Vericours identified specific technologies relevant to the client's business and assessed commercialization timeframes, performance characteristics, with associated economics. We also identified specific potential competitors as well as likely categories of emergent competitors. We then constructed specific monitoring capabilities and scenarios to use in assessing ongoing progress in threatening categories and developed options to protect the client against unopposed competition. We also constructed a strategy to hedge against unexpected technology developments through a low cost option position. Finally we constructed a scenario based competitive landscape and defined specific trigger events which would signal the probable collapse or strengthening of each scenario which were tied to the monitoring capabilities discussed above. Each scenario was tied to a specific strategic response and high level implementation plans to enable swift action once industry direction became clear.
